New 12″ from United Forces of Dub

Amiga Riddim EP is a new joint project of United Forces of Dub and Syncro. It is an international project putting together conscious artists from different places of the world. Deejay master Solo Banton from United Kingdom, Jamaican singer Rueben Mystic, Trinidadian vocalist Juakali living in LA, young African lioness Dada Afrik & Kalcia and a talented bobo dread Fireson all from Nairobi (Kenya).

Vocals on this heavy weight one way riddim have been recorded at various places and under various conditions. All started at home base studios Gunjah and Mustakillah in Czech, went to Conscious Sounds in London and finally moved to Nairobi with Syncro’s mobile studio. Final mix and different arrangements for each tune by Syncro and Mustakillah Sound put together original sound of the record. Although from different backgrounds, the artists came out united on this release, with word, sound and power burning down the Babylon.

Make with a Red Stripe

Red Stripe have embarked on an exciting series of projects called ‘Make with a Red Stripe’. The first one, ‘Make Something from Nothing’, features a huge sound sculpture made from Red Stripe cans, celebrating the DIY culture of Jamaica. The sculpture was tested by artists Al Fingers and Gappy Ranks, then launched officially their event at Village Underground.

We didn’t make it to the event sadly but the sculpture looks and surprisingly, sounds great! Big up Gappy, Al Fingers and the Red Stripe crew for this cool project inspired by Jamaican sound system culture.

Chungo-Bungo Glasgow

On Friday 3rd December we are off to Glasgow to meet the Chungo-Bungo crew with the legendary MC Ishu on board. This is going to be a proper sound system style session at the Chambre 69 venue. We have wanted to checkout the vibes in Glasgow for years so this is much anticipated!

2011′s been a great year for the CB crew, and for the last dance it had to be big. They have called in the heaviest sound, and the best party production in Glasgow, longside the full CB crew. This is going to be FIRE!
